NAIFA's Congressional Conference

By NAIFA-Wisconsin on 2/3/26 4:43 PM

The Premier Advocacy Event for Financial Professionals

May 18-19, 2026 | Capital Hilton | Washington, D.C.

About the Event

Every year, NAIFA members from all 50 states come together in Washington, D.C., for the Congressional Conference, the signature advocacy event for the financial service profession.

This is your opportunity to stand united with fellow advisors, tell your story directly to lawmakers, and help shape the policies that affect your practice, your clients, and Main Street families across the country.

Through your presence on Capitol Hill, you represent the trusted advisors who ensure Americans can save, plan, protect, and retire with dignity. Your voice is essential and policymakers want to hear it.

Two Powerful Days

Day One (May 18): Training, Messaging & Mission Alignment

Our first day equips every attendee, from returning advocates to first-timers, with the clarity, confidence, and unified message needed to make a real impact. You’ll receive in-depth policy briefings, advocacy training, and expert insights.

Day Two (May 19): Day on the Hill

This is when your training becomes action. NAIFA members meet with senators, representatives, and congressional staff to advocate for policies that protect consumers, support small businesses, and strengthen the work you do every day as a trusted financial professional.

NAIFA Members Meet With Congressman Tony Wied

By NAIFA-Wisconsin on 7/29/25 7:00 PM

Earlier this month, NAIFA members had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Tony Wied, who is currently serving his first term representing Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District. The meeting included time for personal introductions, as well as an overview of NAIFA—our mission, membership, and the clients we serve.

We also presented Congressman Wied with our issue brief highlighting bipartisan legislation supported by NAIFA and encouraged him to consider co-sponsoring these important bills.

It was a productive and engaging conversation, and we look forward to building a strong working relationship with Congressman Wied and his team.

Crawford Secures Win in the Nation's Most Expensive Court Race

By George Ermert on 4/2/25 11:27 AM

Dane County Judge Susan Crawford secured an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, solidifying liberal control for at least another three years.  With 98% of the vote in, Crawford was at 55%, while conservative Waukesha County Judge Brad Schimel was at 45%, according to unofficial returns. The money and national spotlight on this race were unprecedented.  The Tesla CEO and top aide to President Trump and his PAC spent more than $24 Million on this race.  Schimel underperformed in numerous areas around the state as Crawford easily exceeded the numbers that Democratic nominee Kamala Harris put up in the November election in losing to Donald Trump.  Crawford also won Brown, Outagamie, and Winnebago counties after Trump took all three last fall.  Turnout in the Supreme Court race has topped 2.3 million, with some precincts still out. That’s roughly a 26% increase statewide compared to 2023.
