Happy Holidays, NAIFA-Wisconsin Members,

It is hard to believe that we are in the final month of the year at NAIFA-Wisconsin.  It has been a privilege to serve as your State Chapter President, and I appreciate the vigilance our organization conducts to protect our industry and clients.  However, I need your help!

As we look ahead to 2026, it is the perfect time to get actively involved in shaping the future of our Chapter and the financial services industry in Wisconsin. Our Chapter's strength comes directly from the engagement of our members, and we are currently seeking passionate individuals to fill key leadership roles on several essential committees.

Committee Members and Leaders Needed for 2026

We encourage you to consider serving on one of the following committees, as outlined in the NAIFA-Wisconsin Bylaws:

  • Programs Committee: The Programs Committee plays a key role in shaping our Power Summit and any Legislative or Advocacy components held alongside the conference. Committee members also support Affiliates in planning networking events throughout the year. Volunteers contribute ideas, connections, and creativity—while NAIFA’s management team handles the heavy lift to bring those plans to life.
  • Membership Committee: This committee leads the development, coordination, and implementation of membership recruitment, retention, and reactivation campaigns, following NAIFA's policies. This is a critical committee for 2026 and going forward!
  • LILI (Leadership in Life Institute) Subcommittee: This subcommittee, formed under the Programs Committee, is tasked with recruiting moderators and students and regularly promoting and facilitating the continuation of the LILI program, seeking to hold at least one class annually.
  • YAT (Young Advisor Team) Subcommittee: This subcommittee, formed under the Membership Committee, focuses on identifying, recruiting, and engaging members who are under the age of forty or in their first five years in the industry. It works to develop and deliver benefits most attractive to young and recent additions to the profession.

An Opportunity for Growth and Networking

We especially urge our new members to seize this opportunity! Joining a committee is an unparalleled way to accelerate your understanding of the financial services industry and actively contribute to the Chapter's mission: "Empowering financial professionals and consumers through world-class advocacy and education".

By stepping up now, you will:

  • Expand Your Professional Sphere: Increase your networking opportunities by collaborating closely with industry leaders from across the state.
  • Bring New Ideas: We are actively seeking fresh perspectives and innovative approaches. Your unique experiences and ideas are vital for keeping our Chapter dynamic and relevant.
  • Enhance Your Business and Professional Skills: Gain valuable leadership and governance experience that directly benefits your career.

Commitment to Mentorship and Support

For those considering a new leadership role, please know that you will not be starting from scratch. Any new committee leaders will be fully supported and mentored by the senior members who will be holding director positions on the Board. This is a chance to work alongside and learn from experienced leaders who are dedicated to your success.

The Advocacy, Membership, and Programs committees are considered standing committees and are appointed by the President in consultation with the Board of Directors.

If you are an Active member, you have the privilege of electing the Officers and Directors of this Chapter. If you are an Associate member, you may serve as a Director but not as an Officer.

I can emphasize that being involved with an organization is very rewarding and since becoming a member in 2006, I have met many wonderful mentors in this industry and have gained great sales ideas.  If you put effort into this organization, you will receive more back.

To express your interest in serving or to learn more about a specific committee's roles and responsibilities, please reach out to us at info@naifawisconsin.org. Let's work together to make 2026-2027 NAIFA-Wisconsin's most successful year yet!

Wishing you all a Happy & Safe Holiday Season!

Best regards,

Richard Balch, CFP, CLU, ChFC, RICP, LACP

NAIFA-Wisconsin Chapter President
